What are the disadvantages of hybrid working?

Inadequate contact with colleagues can make one lonely or even stressed. This is one of the most frequently mentioned disadvantages of hybrid working. Blurring work boundaries is also a danger with working from home. With the lack of the 9-to-5 mentality, many workers feel the urge to overcompensate. This is because they take care of private matters during working hours and want to justify it, resulting in longer workdays.

What does the government say about hybrid working?

"Hybrid working has the future. It is one of the lessons we take away from the corona crisis: the Netherlands has shown that working from home works, and many people want to continue working partly from home. I particularly appreciate all the working people who have worked from home a lot over the past two years. This was not always easy for many, but it was important to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Now that the work-at-home advice has been dropped, we can move forward with a hybrid way of working. Talk to your employer, co-workers or colleagues and make lasting clear agreements. Seize the opportunities that are out there."

Minister Karien van Gennip

Right for employee to work hybrid

What exactly are an employee's rights when it comes to working from home? Has what was a duty during the corona crisis now become a right? If you want to work from home regularly, agreements with your employer are essential. For companies with more than 10 employees, the Flexible Working Law (Wfw) was created. You can submit a request to your employer for adjustment of your working hours, your working hours and your place of work.
